Rare & Outstanding Kentucky Double Serpentine Sideboard - Lot #: 025

Fayette county, circa 1800-1810, long Hepplewhite sideboard, mahogany and cherry exterior woods with veneers and inlays in walnut, mahogany, tulip wood and holly. Pine & poplar secondary woods blocked and serpentine facade with central drawer above two center doors with circular inlay. Center drawer is flanked by two small drawers and two end draws over outer door with matching circular inlay. Two cellarette drawer with original interior on each side of center doors. Sideboard rests on eight tapered legs with inlaid with diminishing bell flowers below walnut veneer panels. Top has graceful serpentine edge with string inlay. Retains the original oval brasses with embossed holly leaves. Provenance: Six generations of the Rudolph family, Fayette County, Ky acquired directly from the family by present owner. 85 1/4w x 24 1/2d x 37 3/4h.
Condition: Top has early refinish, sides and front retain original finish. Cracking to veneer on sides and front. 99% of veneer there. Edge on two cellarette drawer and center doors chips to edge veneer. Fine example of Kentucky Furniture
